3.5 stars for this sweet seasonal book for children.
Colourfully illustrated by AnneliesDraws, this is a nice little book to connect children with nature and being outdoors, as it is crammed full of activities and information. I grew up on a farm but I still learned from this book, for example did you know that the word for the the study of seasonal changes in plants and animals from year to year is called phenology? My only concern with this Spring Treasury is that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing – for example, if readers feel over-confident that they can now, safely, identify edible flowers or bathe a duckling… However, with adult supervision and due care, this book should provide children with a great deal of active fun and learning.
